Jo Coupe’s work revels in the transience of life, seeks out poetry in the ordinary and draws attention to complex cycles of growth and decay. Recent works exploit the aesthetics and methodology of Science, adapting simple experiments, subverting half-understood scientific ideas or re-appropriating imagery for its metaphorical significance. Projects have included a residency with global aluminium producer Alcan, a commission for Tatton Park Biennial and a solo show at Workplace Gallery, Gateshead.
