A series of smoke-emitting devices were detonated at intervals throughout the grounds of Comton Verney creating plumes of different coloured smoke. The effect evoked the spirit both of the elaborate outdoor spectacles, often designed by artists of the 17th and 18th centuries, and army manoeuvres carried out at Compton Verney during World War II.
